This is still against the law, I believe. Pay-for-play $1M donation, administration flips their public position, comes out against Canada's free bridge.
Because despite McDonnell (2016) and worse, Snyder (2024), the Supreme Court still says intent & result is illegal (which we saw with bridge owner Maroun's donation).
Who would sue as injured, though? Truckers union, to complain of paying tolls? That's why this sort of grift keeps happening.

Among the recipients: a man whose daughter had given millions to a #Trump backed #superPAC, a former governor of #PuertoRico, a former #FBI agent who had pleaded #guilty in a political #corruption case & a California woman whom Trump had granted relief once before.
The woman, Adriana Camberos, was initially convicted in 2017 for her role in a scheme to sell millions of #counterfeit bottles of the caffeinated drink 5-Hour Energy.

oh look #BradGarlinghouse, another one of the 2024 election's megadonors, had (some of the) securities fraud charges against his company #Ripple dropped (they were charged with selling unregistered securities in the form of their token #XRP - the same XRP token that Trump wants to put in the “Strategic Crypto Reserve”).
i assume the rest of the charges (the ones they were convicted of) will be dropped soon enough.
