#stoplight

I came up with this design earlier in the year while brainstorming ideas for a story. Being a better designer than a writer, the story is still a ways off, but I'm pretty proud of how this design came out.

A logo design of a traffic light. Text at the top reads STOP with the O being a red light. Below it, text reads LIGHT with the G being a yellow light. An O underneath is the green light. Text on the bottom reads "ready. set. glow" in cursive lettering.

Marvel a little extra

A picture might be worth a thousand words, but I know me — I try and add context to the journal entries for future me.

But I’m stretching myself thin on all fronts.

This is a natural occurance and I am always reminding myself to acknowledge the ebbs and flows.

I know this day was filled with meetings. I checked into a grocery store, listened to three songs and marveled at this sunset, hoping for the light to turn red to marvel a little extra.

#Texas #megachurch caught #manipulating #traffic data to get new stoplight

youtube.com/watch?v=BPVjnZJH_-

Lakepointe #Church in Texas told members to help them manipulate traffic #data so they could convince the city to put a #stoplight in front of their building.
Then they got caught.

Something I wish I had time to implement in #OpenAPI Generator is having the default implementation return mock results until you create the actual implementation. Then you could develop and test against the API while minimizing rework as you learn what's needed from the API. I have used #stoplight #prism for this in the past, but it would be great if it was built-in to the generator output.

Does anybody know of any good alternative to the tools and Elements for rendering specs nicely? Most important is deep theming support. Less is more - with custom properties would be ideal. But open to suggestions.

I hear that Spotify uses Elements for their docs - they've done a great job styling it, which is something I can't see from Stoplight docs - anybody know how this is done in this case?

Building Better APIs: Why You Should Practice Product Thinking

blog.stoplight.io/building-bet

"Treating your API as a first-class product doesn’t depend on a single job title or set of tools. It’s a mindset and a set of habits that you need to cultivate over time." --

@matthew @mamund also touched on this point in #Stoplight 's #APIIntersection podcast - i.e. companies that have been making /selling widgets for 100+ years but are now embracing tech to do the job better. youtu.be/qlhJp_yUTLg?list=PLFL
