I can finally receive, send and reply to and with emails of my own domain(s)

That took 7 years of self hosting, a lot of research and, admittedly, a SMTP relay for outgoing emails, because the extra work to maintain a proper IP reputation (among others) didn’t seem worth it (yet ?)

Using Stalwart helped, being on K3S didn’t…

All that’s left if properly hooking up Postgres, some storage engine and a k8s configmap to track the Stalwart configuration file

Surprise, the local part of email addresses, i.e. the part in front of the @-character, is per RFC case-sensitive. Do not mess with the local part.

Relevant when sending out challenge mails, account validation mails, password reset mails, issuing S/MIME certificates, etc.

Luckily a lot of the internet infra just ignores the case, but Apple Mail does not.

Yesterday was #DigitalIndependenceDay! #Email is vital and predates the web. Though fully federated, it’s now dominated by large providers. Luckily, alternatives like #Posteo or #ProtonMail exist. The hoster #Uberspace also offers email if you like it more hands-on. For 10+ years, I run #Postfix + #Dovecot in my homelab: Relay outbound via my domain provider’s #SMTP and use #Fetchmail to pull inbound mail to my #IMAP server.

An Android application that forwards incoming SMS messages to a specified email address.

The circumstances and situations in this world so unpredictable. Carrying a SIM card in your main smartphone, where half of your life is tied in many situations, is reckless.

Leave your smartphone with a SIM card in the Nonamed-City-upon-Avon, and SMS2Email forwards the 2FA code to the City-of-January-River or somewhere else. The SIM card does not go into roaming, it will not be squeezed out along with the smartphone by the Brazilian El Bandidos de la Perros. Viva la seguridad!

You need to tinker a little with setting up mail on the device where the application will be used, since you need an App Password, which not each email provider provides it . The second mail, to which, in fact, the forward will be, can be any, even one-time.

Мир большой и разный. Обстоятельства и ситуации в нем ещё более. Таскать с собой симку, на которую привязано пол жизни во многих сценариях, скажем так, опрометчиво.

Оставляете в городе на Неве смартфон с SIM-картой, а это приложение форвардит 2FA код в Реку Января (Rio de Janeiro) или куда-то ещё. SIM-карта не уходит в роуминг, её вместе со смартфоном не отожмут бразильские el bandidos de la perros. Viva la seguridad!

Немного нужно повозиться с настройкой почты на устройстве где будет использоваться приложение, так как нужен App Password, который предоставляют не все и с вариантами. Вторая почта, на которую, собственно, и будет форвард, может быть любой, хоть одноразовой.

在NetCup重新配置了Beszel，让他启用和发挥了更多功能，还有就是启用：OAuth：Github登录（需要到https://github.com/settings/applications/new 新增OAuth App）、OTP、MFA
只有关闭：Hide collection create and edit controls Collections/users右边才有设置按钮，才能配置OAuth、OTP、MFA

OTP、MFA需要配置SMTP，我试了Webhosting和Resend，都显示超时，才想到NetCup的邮件防火墙是默认开启的，关闭后测试成功

Several hours ago the #MSExchange Team posted an update on the #SMTP AUTH Basic #Authentication timeline. To summarize: the original date of disabling the option of March 2026 is now delayed to H2 2027 for existing tenants. Newly created tenants will have to deal with this from December 2026.

Regular web hosting account with decent mailbox size quotas is a cheap option just needs all the initial spf etc configured by you correctly works well
