My finished Demon from shadows of Brimstone.
Greenish toned flesh, bone leather outstretched, clawed wings, clawed arms and feet, and red and orange horns, with blood leaking from its face and sharp white teeth.
This is one of the XL bosses for the game. I may never get to fight him, unless I can get a group of four together. Controlling multiple characters in this game gets tricky.

The problem with a new game, which has a massive back catalogue of expansions, is that I now need to paint ALL the miniatures.

I have tried to play #games with bare plastic, but it hurts my soul… really.

Just played our second game of #shadowsofbrimstone Swamps of Death and it was SO much easier than the first time, which failed.

Found both clue markers by the 4th room!

12 beefy enemies were waiting for us. Not saying the fight was a walk in the park, but we didn’t have to spend 2 hours getting the poop kicked out of us before reaching it, so actually scored a win.

Downside: very little money and xp gained. Bah. Ah well, the Town was useful to sell all the darkstone we couldn’t use because we had no money for upgrades.

Tomorrow night, we head back into the mines! Finally grasping all the rules/turn sequence without having to think about it much. Also, organised the cards and tokens into accessible storage boxes rather than plastic bags.

Looking forward to adding expansions. 😇

Shadows of Brimstone.

Played it last night - failed on the FIRST mission! Loved it 🥰

My birthday wishlist now consists solely of expansions and enemy packs for this game.

I played #warhammerquest since it first appeared, for around 30 years now, and have literally hundreds of miniatures and every expansion for that game This one feels like its spiritual successor with added Horror and environment/time travelling capabilities.

Anyone who loved WHQ95 will feel right at home in some version of this game. Wild West, Feudal Japan, Vikings, Inside a giant monster, Swamplands, Conquistadors, etc.

Yes. I am that impressed by it.

Been painting the minis from #shadowsofbrimstone Swamps game over the last two days. Got the heroes done. 6 tentacles almost complete.

Great game. Think Warhammer Quest + Cthulhu + Wild West.

Started the HUGE Demon tonight. Oh boy. Nice model. Going to think about those rotten leathery wings for a while. Settled on Necrotic Flesh for the body, and Blood Red horns, on the basecoating.

May try bone and very light beige colouring. Will be checking out some other painters’ treatment of undead/demonic wings for ideas. Someone else’s paint job below.

I hope the community can recover, but too many indies rely on the US market to survive (economies of scale).

A thread seeking suggestions/inspirations for future #minispainting! Painted the skin & bones of my #ShadowsOfBrimstone undead with the Contrast paint Plaguebearer Flesh for thematic consistency. When I get to the various Vampires, I want them to have the same visually distinct, inhuman skin tone.

All skin and bones were painted with Plaguebearer Flesh Contrast paint.

The swamp slugs were drybrushed and got some colors, after drying they receive a varnish and are ready to scare some heroes in the swamps of Jargono.

the Scafford Highwaymen from Shadows of Brimstone, 6 cthulhoid mutant men with rifles and bags of loot, old west style.

During the stay in town, the hero posse was contacted and hired to create a map of a mine. It turned out to be a trap, a T-junction right behind the entrance uncovered two portals.

One portal led into swamps, which the heroes were not comfortable with. Tempted by fire from the other portal, they decided to search for artifacts in caverns full of lava. All survived, but two of them ended up with mutations of their bodies.
