what I found out is that if instead of trying to use the instrument from Carla, I add #sfizz as a plug-in, and load the #SFZ instrument there, it works... as long as Carla is started from LLMS as a plug-in, and is not started directly.

@unfa I compiled #sfizz and did `make install` and it works in #Ardour if I set the LV2_PATH environment variable to include /usr/local/lib.
I have a glorious Virtual Playing Orchestra now, but for some reason it every time I stop playback, Ardour's whole UI freezes for maybe 20 seconds... unless I select JACK as Transport Master.

In case you're using Sfizz - probably the best FOSS LV2 SFZ sampler - you may want to star it on Github - the devs are very close to 100 stars which'll grant them crowdfunding powers there. I've realized I haven't starred it yet, so I've fixed it - maybe you're like me :)
