Featured on their sixth studio album #PhysicalGraffiti (1975), it was written by #JimmyPage and #RobertPlant with contributions from #JohnBonham over a period of three years with lyrics dating to 1973. #JohnPaulJones was late arriving to the studio for the recording sessions, so he did not receive a writer's credit. The song became a concert staple.

L'ultimo disco di Robert Plant con Suzi Dian, «Saving Grace», è pieno di cover di pezzi tradizionali e non (tra questi ultimi la bella cover di Everybody's Song dei Low appena rilanciata). Tra le cover di tradizionali spicca secondo me Soul of a Man, brano registrato per la prima volta da Blind Willie Johnson nel 1930. È un pezzo dal contenuto religioso ma resta comunque bellissimo, e secondo me la versione di Plant gli rende un gran servizio.
