Verrà un giorno ...

Un frammento di devozione popolare dove il protagonista non è solo l’uomo che regge la croce, ma l’intero tessuto umano che lo circonda, colto in un brulicare di gesti, dialoghi e attese. Il bianco e nero esalta il clima notturno e il misto di fumo, umidità e luce artificiale, trasformando la piazza in un teatro sospeso tra sacro e quotidiano. Le lampade sullo sfondo creano un controluce drammatico che incide le sagome e rende la scena quasi cinematografica, accentuando la dimensione rituale tipica delle processioni meridionali. La figura centrale, con il cappello scuro e la croce tra le mani, appare come un “custode” del rito: il gesto della mano alzata suggerisce un dialogo, forse un’indicazione, forse un racconto, che lo pone a ponte tra tradizione e comunità. La croce, con i nastri ricamati, diventa un’estensione del corpo, un segno identitario che dichiara l’appartenenza confraternale e concentra su di sé la carica simbolica della scena. La composizione è densa e affollata, con corpi che entrano e escono dal fotogramma, come se la processione proseguisse oltre i bordi dell’immagine. Le diagonali create dai nastri, dalle gambe e dalle ombre a terra guidano lo sguardo verso il centro.
