Off Grid Energy Storage Using Recycled Electric Car Batteries

We would really like to one day run our backup servers, and maybe even some of our principle services from our location in #Wānaka, #Otago.

In order to make this feasible we will need a reasonable amount of off grid storage to ensure we can keep everything up in a power cut.

Gwilym’s 2016 Nissan Leaf blew a cell (or at least looking at #LeafSpy that appears to be what happened) a few months ago. This has lead to a roller coaster ride of What Ifs and Why Nots.

A couple more kiwi "sovereign citizens" have had their day in court.

Bradley & Michelle O’Donnell from Raglan decided they didn't need building consent or other formalities when they added an extra room onto their house. The couple refused to meet with the Council unless they were paid. The only document they produced was a "Māori sovereign authority" signed by somebody called ‘Piripi’.

The court said "Nah" and fined them $20k.

The caterpillars look awesome too.

Currently sitting outside a coffee shop in #Raglan breathing diesel fumes from an unidentifiable source. Imagine if everything were renewable & electric I'd miss such treats.

Long tail seems better for carrying kids, long nose better for animals. I had a Bullit & a Bakfiets adored them, so did my dog. I think they may be more aerodynamic too, they always felt fast.
But here in #raglan there are quite a few parents with kids on long tails, not a long nose in sight.
Basically all are good :-D

I have one of these, purchased in my beloved #Raglan #Aotearoa #NewZealand. My son calls it my purse/handbag. I'm now terribly self conscious wearing it, which I do almost daily. Have put the larger size, which can hold tablet &/or laptop, on my 55th birthday list. 🤞 #fashioncrisis
