Islandia, Libro: Sketching Bathing in Iceland-Esbozando Las Piscinas de Islandia

En el verano de 2015, Rán Flygenring emprendió un viaje por Islandia. Sin embargo, se fijó un objetivo específico: visitar tantas piscinas como fuera posible. Ya fueran públicas, naturales (estas últimas a veces terminaban siendo solo un charco) o incluso un spa de lujo, Rán quería ver y experimentar todo lo que la cultura islandesa del baño tenía para ofrecer.
La aclamada autora y artista es conocida por sus libros lúdicos y sus enfoques creativos en la ilustración. Uno de sus últimos libros (dos publicados recientemente, ambos ya nominados a premios) es «Sketching Bathing in Iceland» . El libro, diseñado por Studio Studio, luce una sobrecubierta que parece una toalla y contiene una postal atrevida (literalmente). Presenta páginas del cuaderno de bocetos de Rán —con los bordes aún puestos, aparentemente recién arrancados— que representan sus experiencias en diferentes piscinas del país, siempre documentadas justo después de la visita, mientras el recuerdo aún estaba fresco.

I started playing #Pools tonight. It’s basically a walking simulator through liminal spaces, very much like the #backrooms. They very clearly state in the description that there are no enemies or monsters at all, but the eeriness really puts you on edge, and I’ve actually jumped a few times. The sound and visuals really create a rich atmosphere that’s utterly creepy.
