I’m building a small web-based open source markdown + css to PDF editor which uses PagedJS. I was wondering if anyone has tried doing caching (my guess is we possibly could do that in the chunkier, after page breaks, although this seems extremely tricky to pull off) to speed up rendering times which might be useful for longer documents @julieblanc #PagedJS

It's another way of thinking design, very explorative, semantic in a way.
This page is just md, plus a css file.
I'm using pagedjs to output the print-ready pdf.

Les étudiant•es se sont saisi• du sujet jusqu'au bout, écrivant leurs propres matériaux, plusieurs projets ont vu le jour.

Un "kit" de matériaux de soutien anti #IA avec des super propositions et expérimentations #pagedjs #imagemagick #asciiart + autres devrait montrer sa tête :)

The new ebook plugin for Typemill has a remote service to generate PDFs and an aditional ebook theme with a fancy 2-column layout.

The remote pdf generation is powered by #WeasyPrint now as an alternative to the browser based generation with #pagedjs

@vasilis Within the context of a paged.js driven publishing, you may use `string-set`, like here: https://ateliers.esad-pyrenees.fr/stolon/string-set-print.
That’s a shame we cannot access this within a normal web page (or even in straight css print, since browsers never implemented it properly).

Looking for info on Chrome/PDFs
I’m experimenting with generating print-ready PDFs from webpages using Chrome and Paged.js - and I’m looking for info on how images are compressed/modified when a web page is printed as PDF. Any idea where I could find this info?

J'ai trouvé un cas d'usage pour #pagedjs : export pdf de mon support de présentation fait avec remarkjs
Vu que remarkjs génère les diapos à partir d'un contenu markdown, #weasyprint (que j'utilise d'habitude) ne peut pas me faire un PDF, car il n'interprète pas le javascript
Pagedjs se fait dans un moteur de navigateur.
J'ai dû repasser les diapos en 4:3 mais sinon, rien à signaler, le signal est propre !

Some months ago I asked @raphael if Stolon could be improved and adjusted for my own use, so that I can move out of #codepen and host my sketches on my server. He kindly replied GO! and we went though a wild and fun push / pull game to upgrade the editor, enhance the behavior, allow #pagedjs and #p5js templates. Let’s start with PageTypeToPrint, the web + print thesis template made in PHP with #pagedjs. It has been slowly enhanced through the year, with minor bug fixes, improvements, and even a changelog. It is used, more and more, which makes me really happy. Two recent examples in the wild: Alice Neron used it for the great book Code du numérique, and Saul Pandelakis for his 900 pages HDR thesis. Decade-old posts are certainly all over the place, since the print and paged media specs were more or less ignored by most browsers for years. But you might have missed some important activity below the surface. @prepostprint folks did a lot of experiments, some publishers (👋 @cfeditions) are using these workflows on a daily basis, #pagedjs is now a strong tool (weasyprint is also ;) and I even teach this approaches in my design courses : https://ateliers.esad-pyrenees.fr/web/pages/ressources/ctrl-alt-print/

Oh, bien vu ! Effectivement, il n'y a pas de repo dédié (ces exemples n'étaient pas destinés à rester là…). De fait, la dispersion des plugins, hooks et autres astuces #pagedjs est un problème encore irrésolu. @julientaq, @julieblanc et les copaines de @prepostprint sont bien au courant..

@julienbidoret j'ai corrigé un bug d'affichage du plugin "table des matières". Je souhaiterai faire une Pull Request pour proposer une correction du `toc.css`. Mais je ne trouve pas de repo centralisant les plugins de https://ateliers.esad-pyrenees.fr/web/pages/ressources/ctrl-alt-print/pagedjs/
