I constantly see folks select ActiveRecord when going the #notRails route. I just don’t understand it when there are benchmarks like the following: ideia.me/benchmarking-ruby-orm

I turned the weird 18 inch log flower bed border into more split posts today. Moved a bigger but shorter one, and two smaller logs that will be posts on their own, and about 18 feet of the but ends cut up into a half dozen pieces.

Just need to rake a little bit so there's not any too-big projectiles for the mower. (small ones ok :)

A photo of 5 fence posts split out of an approximate 18 inch diameter log that was 10 feet long. 45cm x 3m.

There is a splitting maul, a steel wedge, and an assortment of wood wedges made from black locust sitting on top of the 5 posts that are bark down side by side.

The wood is western red cedar. The center is red-ish colored, and the outer sap wood is white which is over an inch or 25 mm thick.

There are violet viola flowers/plants in the lower right, and mid left area of the photo.

Not easily seen is Ajuga reptans scattered throughout the lawn in this location. They are partially obscured by the various leaves and cedar tree litter, and the 5 posts.

There are peony plants growing near the upper right in partial sun. Some daylilies beyond and before those.

At the very top of the photo rows of blueberries and raspberries mixed with red currants which have cedar branch leaf spread to mulch the ground where grass grows. In front of those is a log waiting to be relocated.
