5- Il y a une autre façon moderne, moins couteuse, et plus ecologique que la crémation c’est la résomation.

En effet, la résomation est une hydrolyse alcaline qui consiste à dégrader le corps du défunt par chauffage à 160°C dans une solution de potasse sous pression à pH 14. L’opération dure environ 2 heures et ne génère aucune fumée ni gaz toxiques puisque ne s’échappe de la machine que de la vapeur d’eau. Le corps est dégradé en substances solubles dans l’eau (sucres, sels minéraux, acides aminés, petits peptides) non polluantes et réassimilables par les plantes lorsqu’elles sont réintroduites dans la nature. Toutes les parties métalliques (amalgames dentaires, prothèses, pacemaker) sont récupérés dans la nacelle du résomateur. Le squelette est réduit à une poignée de poudre blanche de phosphate de calcium qui peut être redonnée aux familles, dans une urne, si elles le désirent.
