#WolfgangVoigt (born 1961) is a German #electronicMusic DJ and #producer from #Cologne, known for his output under various aliases, such as #Gas. He signed on numerous record labels, including #Warp, #Harvest, #RasterNoton, Force Inc, #AstralIndustries and #Kompakt. The latter was co-founded by Voigt alongside #MichaelMayer and #JürgenPaape. Vertical Drift traces a path through minimal and hypnotic techno, where relentless rhythms, razor-sharp hi-hats, and enveloping synth layers build a deep, almost meditative atmosphere. Throughout its opening tracks, the EP moves fluidly between trance, sustained tension, and sonic magnetism, carefully setting the conceptual and emotional groundwork for its closing moment.

The final track, Ritual, stands out with flashes of fast-moving acid synths layered over a strong, driving rhythm.
