MADE SOMETHING COOL
A sort of collaboration with myself from over a decade ago when I was playing around a lot with mashups and live mixing.

Pop Life is one of my favourite Prince songs, oddly a B-side but some of Prince's best songs were B-sides.
It works with Peter Gabriel's Solsbury Hill key and lyric wise - Prince's Pop Life is about being tired of the 'pop star life' - boxing ring bit is a recreation of where he was booed off on a Rolling Stones tour in 1981 - and Solsbury Hill is about Peter leaving Genesis.
Then I realise when putting it together that Solsbury Hill isn't in 4/4. 6/8 I wondered? No our old friend 7/4 with 4/4 ends of choruses. OH JOY.
Cue lots of sliding vocals around to fit. I think I got it.
Image is from my 2016 visit to Solsbury Hill, bittersweet cos I was there with a 'friend who thought I was a nut' and similarly had to leave their 'machinery' - more accurately machinations - behind.
Solsbury Hill is a song about change and leaving for something new, so it oddly tracks to use that image.
