I think I'm finished building the control section of J. Clark Scott's computer in Logism. Took me probably 6 hours. This caused me so much eye strain to complete. 😵‍💫

I'm close to finishing this computer but I want to reread the control section chapter first because I don't really understand what's going on here.

Looks like I got the timing of the enable and set bits working in Logism. I had to use two clocks, one ticking 1/1 and the other 2/2. The book showed a simpler way with a single clock but it didn’t work in Logism so I had to improvise. #logism #circuits #engineering #programming

The diagrams in this book often show multiple outputs sharing the same bus, but when I try to do the same in Logism I get errors unless I tie all the outputs to an OR gate, like this. Are the author's diagrams just hiding the OR gates to keep the diagrams simple? Or is there something I'm doing wrong in Logism? #programming #engineering #logism

I've been trying to build a very, very simple computer following this little book called “But How Do It Know?”.

I got 256 bytes RAM working (I think). The book didn't go into detail on this point so I had to use my imagination (for better or worse). I chained 16 registers into a column, then chained 16 of those columns to make the 256 bytes of RAM.

I've never formally studied engineering; not sure I’m doing this right but it seems to work.
