Iran has expressed readiness to mediate in efforts to reduce tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
During a press conference, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei expressed concern over the escalation of the conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan, stating that Tehran is prepared to act as a mediator to prevent an increase in clashes.
He assessed Iran’s relations with Afghanistan positively, but expressed concern about the current situation between Kabul and Islamabad, noting that the escalation of tensions will affect the countries in the region as well.
These remarks come after Pakistani military forces targeted homes in the Nangarhar and Paktika provinces two days ago, resulting in 18 deaths and five injuries.

دغه څرګندونې داسې مهال مطرح کیږي، چې دوه ورځې وړاندې د پاکستان پوځي رژیم په ننګرهار او پکتیکا ولایتونو کې د خلکو کورونه په نښه کړل، چې په پایله کې یې ۱۸تنه شهیدان او پنځه نور ټپیان شول.
