Just in time for Wellington's fleeting "real summer" cranking up this weekend, all the south coast has become a raw sewage spill.

If only some govt with the gift of foresight could have passed a law to use the Crown's balance sheet and superb credit to help councils pay for upgraded and future-proof water assets.

In another timeline, this would be getting fixed and we wouldn't have a pack of racist blowhards selling us out to murderous nazis and private capital.

Are all the anti-cogovernance zealots happy yet? Because I am fucking livid. #NZPol

I can’t read the full article #nzpol but ‘what have I done wrong to you?’ Is perfect.

Interesting how there seems to be alot of talk around New Zealand should join Australia in the right wing media and influencers post the election date announcement anyone else getting someone's in the background is starting a soft sell campaign to see if would fly.

Or am I just one step removed from needing a tinfoil hat.

Why isn't anyone throwing shit at Luxon? #NZPol

We’re talking a lot about how school uniforms could be cheaper.

Not a lot of talk about how wage growth hasn’t kept up with inflation, which is making everything more expensive across the board (cue the cost of living crisis). Wage growth hasn’t kept up with productivity growth since the privatisation wave of the 1980s and 90s.

We need to talk more about how wages aren’t sufficient to support even working families any more, rather than looking at the symptoms.

When PM Chris Luxon’s term comes to an end in November he will get the standard knighthood for having been PM.

I would like that nomination to be handled the same way his party has handled every single environmental issue:

* this is not a priority for the first year
* our country is too small for this
* we need to get back on track first
* we have a review next year and will address it then

Chorus out: The Government is hoping voters will 'feel' economic recovery by Nov 7 as 'green shoots' appear (again), but election year has begun with falling house prices, unemployment rising to a 10-year high and real wages deflating. #nzpol thekaka.substack.com/p/election-y...

Mr Luxon, like many of his ilk, claims to believe in Christian virtues like compassion, charity, virtue, kindliness, forgiveness. But here's the thing, he only practices them when he (or his friends) can make a buck from it. Rapacious greed and contempt is neither christian nor virtuous
