👍 I absolutely loved this book, and this author has become an auto read! It has Holton’s trademark humor and hijinks. Secret friends to lovers was also a nice touch. I also liked how the epilogue has all the couples from the series getting together, it was a nice parallel to her Wisteria Society ending.

👍 This book picks up right where book 2 left off. However, the lore really expands in this one! We finally start to get some answers, but there’s still some revelations to come. We also get some new POV. On to book 4!

👍 Happy movie release day!
Fun fact, before booksta, I had only DNF’d two books: Lord of the Flies and Wuthering Heights. Neither one was required reading in school, I was just bumming copies from my sister. I remember thinking the MC’s in Wuthering Heights were so unlikeable and having the same names was confusing.
The movie doesn’t look anything like the book though so maybe I should give it a chance? Maybe I should attempt a re-read while I’m at it 😬

👍 I picked this up bc of the dog on the cover but it was actually really cute! It’s a friends to lovers/second chance/best friend’s brother romance. It has some 🌶️. It also has only one bed trope.

👎 Third act break up
Tbh, the formatting on the POV was weird. It would switch in the middle of the chapter sometimes with no warning. No chapter break, or sub heading to be seen.

👍 This was a fun zombie apocalypse book with a side of enemies to lovers. There were some pretty gnarly descriptions. Watch out for the cliffhanger in the epilogue! If you don’t read it, it can be a stand alone 🙃

👍 A good ending to the quartet. The journey definitely went a lot of places (à la Spark of the Ever flame) and there was some Under the Mountain x Hunger Games actions. But all in all, I liked the HEA.

👎 I think I could’ve done with less Gabriel/ political situation in Aphelion POV. Although it provided context, I would rather have a spin off for him 🙌

👍 Overall, a good January read (It starts on New Years and follows the FMC to the following New Year). I enjoyed the parallels to the British monarchy. I appreciated the authors note at the beginning where she explained the divergence of the timeline.
👎The ending was not a surprise, although I hoped for it to turn out differently.
