ETHiX Racing Opens 2026 Season with Grit and Heart in Daytona 500 Thriller
The 2026 Owltone Designs Cup Series season roared to life at Daytona International Speedway, and ETHiX Racing Team wasted no time proving they came prepared for the fight. In a race defined by high-speed teamwork, dramatic cautions, and late-race chaos, drivers Steven Carlile and Chelsea Carter showcased resilience, speed, and the kind of determination that sets the tone for a promising year ahead.
Strong Starts and Early Momentum
Last week’s Duels set the stage for a competitive day, with Carter rolling off from 6th and Carlile from 13th. Both drivers quickly settled into the draft, navigating the cool, breezy Daytona conditions with confidence.
The first caution at Lap 16 brought early adversity when Carlile was swept into a multi-car spin involving the #4, #7, and #67. Despite the setback, he rebounded to finish 4th in Stage 1, while Carter secured 13th.
Stage 2 saw both ETHiX machines shine. Carter surged forward to claim 3rd, and Carlile followed closely in 5th, setting up a powerful run into the final segment.

Duels at Daytona - February 11th, 2026
Event Details: Two 60-lap races to set the starting grid for next week's Daytona 500.
Practice Results:

Duel 1: Carter and Carlile qualified into the 1st Duel, starting 5th and 6th respectively. Both drivers worked together throughout the race, and would be in prime position with 2 laps to go. The top lane stalled out and the two drivers slipped back, but a wreck coming to the checkered flag had them moving up through the carnage.
The NSR Owltone Designs Cup Series is set to kick off its 2026 points season with the highly anticipated Duels at Daytona, taking place tonight (Feb 11th). This event will set the starting grid for next week's Daytona 500.
Only the two front row starters (the pole and "outside pole") are determined by the standard knockout qualifying system. For all other drivers, it only determines their starting position in their Duel, with odd placed cars being entered into the first Duel and even placed cars going in the second.

Event Details: Two 20-lap heats and one 100-lap main.
Practice Results: #81 Steven Carlile - 3rd overall.
Heat Results: #81 Steven Carlile finishes 3rd, advancing to the main.
Main Feature: Carlile started 5th, maintaining a top-5 position for the first half of the race. On lap 60, he was hit from behind while slowing down for an accident in front, causing extensive damage to the suspension. He would continue to finish 14th.

Official Event Recap:
The 2026 North Star Racing Cup Series roared to life with its opening event, featuring two 20-lap heat races that set the tone for an action-packed night. With the off-season clearly leaving some rust behind, both heats saw their fair share of carnage as drivers pushed hard from the drop of the green.
Heat One belonged to Zack Saunders, who kept his nose clean and drove away with the win. Caleb Sheets followed in second, while Steven Carlile rounded out the top three. The second heat saw Zander Short assert himself early, taking the victory over Noah Nicholson in second and Cory Mott in third.
Momentum carried straight into the 100 lap Clash, where Zander Short continued to excel. Short pulled away to secure the Clash victory and the $15 prize pool, officially opening his 2026 campaign in dominant fashion. Zack Saunders crossed the line 1.8 seconds back in second place, with Cory Mott completing the podium in third.
North Star Racing returns to action next Wednesday night at Daytona, where drivers will battle it out in the Duels. Racing is set to go green at 8:30 PM ET.
