I've now made five of these simple, ceramic fish pendants and I love the fins on this one. The combo of overlapping glazes and the engobe underneath worked really well!

Also, I wish pixelfed showed a bigger thumbnail or the pic I'm uploading when I write the alt text. Or this text too actually. Right now I keep the image open in a different window as well, to see what I'm writing about, you know.
There are over all several things I wish were slightly different with pixelfed, but we'll see what happens.

A tassel! Or, a WIP of a tassel, that is. This is not the final tassel to the... cap? Whatever the name is. I just took some yarn I already had at hand to try it out!
I like tassels. I think they're pretty and can absolutely be worn as key chains and necklaces and such.

A tassel with it's cap made out of stoneware clay with small holes in it. The holes are filled with red engobe lower down and green and blue glaze at the top. The temporary tassel itself is made out of grey yarn and is quite fluffy and thin.

Just wanted to share a really nice glaze combo!
Some glazes can create beautiful effects when mixed! It's hard to get good photos of it, unfortunately. It's like oil paint - better in real life.

Two stoneware clay pendants, one leaning on the other which is mostly just there to hold up the former. In that one is a swirl of darker and lighter blur colours - the result of glazes mixing, floating together and creating marbled patterns.

Before I attempted this project, I had never heard of a rocking planter before. Our assignment was to create one with a sgraffito project in mind. I did a simple sgraffito and decided to play with glaze as well. Let’s just say I did it my way. My goal was to play with glaze that was going to give me a drippy effect. I would have loved a more dramatic effect with more drip lines, but for a first attempt, I like it. Testing some commercial glazes on my handmade ceramic mosaic tesserae. Really enjoy the moldy looks.

I've made thousands of these, primarily in blacks and whites, with the plan of tiling math figures and other illustrations following the rules of Roman mosaics. :monotile:

Eight square glazed ceramic tesserae, each with a unique finish. Some have crackling in the shape of lightening. The surfaces can be matte, glossy, metallic, or bubbly. Colors range from light to dark, some with speckles in yellow and dark teal resembling the appearance of mold or cheese.

Small collections of glossy dark tesserae arranged in an organizer. One section contains dark olive tesserae with mirror-like shiny finish in addition to the gloss. The other contains dark teal ones. Each has a unique gradient of colors surface terrain.

I like to spray on a layer of snow white #porcelain over a clay body which can better handle the stress of #raku firing. This piece, with an #Arizona #petroglyph design, is glazed with my Fat White Crackle #formula:

The photorealistic image is a paper cutout made with a projected transparency. I soak the thick paper in paraffin so it won't absorb glaze.

My glaze keeps cracking my pottery.

Next fire will be another temperature, and also experimenting with different (transparant and white) glazes. Possibly there will be more casualties. The kids know that: they are my test team.

I give the cups away for free. It is an investment in getting the families take a little more interest in each other: they hardly knew each other when It started. Now, thanks to this project, we share a group app ;-).
