Some WIP doodles with particles in #Blender (how original of me, I know). Tonight I figured out how to make 3D noise fields rotationally symmetric, so I had to try it on some simple particle sims.

This is what divergence-free noise looks like compared to your average noise in Blender. The latter tells each particle "walk towards this gradient here", whereas curl noise tells the particle "move along this gradient, nothing to see here".

The result looks like the behavior of an incompressible fluid.
