Invitation to the Game Night at the UJZ (autonomous youth center)!

We cordially invite you to spend a cozy evening with us. We have a selection of board and card games and table football, but you are also welcome to bring your favorite games (and friends).

The UJZ is not easily accessible by wheelchar.
The room is on the first floor and can only be reached via a staircase.

We had an open source video game night at our house last night and it was a lot of fun! Some of my family and friends came. There was a mix of kids and grownups. People enjoyed SuperTuxKart. They would grab a controller and play some SuperTuxKart soccer or racing, and then drift off to get pizza or chat with people. After convicing them that the games were for grownups too, I had some intense races with my brother-inlaws 😃🏁 🚗 💨 !

We also had Luanti available. Fewer people played it because (depending of the game) it's a little harder to play casually. But my 4 y/o and his cousin loved it! They were happily punching blocks and occasionally asking me to do the command to make it daytime. It's so fun to see kids learning how to play a game and really getting into it.

The fighter picked up Fox-Grainne, who had written "dispel magic" in the dust (she is still wholly aware and able to understand, she just can't talk), and tried to rappel to the ground.

The rope broke, and they fell. While he took only half damage (successful Acrobatics roll, she did not.

Fox-Grainne has 1 HP left.

Pray for her. Or something. Tots and pears.

Our party is trying to climb a rose-covered tower while fighting the effects of said roses and taking damage from the thorns.

Grainne isn't affected by the scent, but those thorns messed her up for 5 points of damage.

This, while we're climbing to the second floor of this dilapidated tower. We end up in the kitchen on the second floor. (Odd place for a kitchen, but all right . . .)

Grainne and the fighter have gained a goddess's blessing, making their steps lighter.

Mechanically, our max encumbrance increased by 2.

Not bad for parting with 4 coppers . . .

The fighter busted out of that amoeba like the Kool-Aid Man.

Now we're making camp. Without a tent. Grainne and the fighter succeeded at their Bushcraft checks, but the old sailor did not fare so well.

Grainne shakes her head and busies herself making a fire.

Our fighter has been enveloped by the giant amoeba!

He's trying to fight his way out.

Grainne would love to cast lightning again, but the fighter would for sure be affected.

Grainne growls and pins her ears back.

In our travels to Trolls Spire, we happen upon a dead deer. Really dead. Messily dead.

And out of it comes a giant amoeba.

Grainne zaps it with lightning.

It jiggles.

It's Game Night!

One player cannot be present, so the other three of us are moving ahead.

We'll play again next Friday when we can all be around, but for now, it's Grainne and the sailor and the fighter.

The magic user is going to stay out of trouble as best she can. She's old and cranky, like me.

@CurtAdams It turns out one of our friends got a special card, misunderstood how it scored, and spent an hour doing a stupid strategy. All it did was interfere with the rest of us without getting him meaningful points (he was last out of 5). As soon as we explained how he wasn’t earning any points doing this, he stopped. The game ended like 15 minutes later.

It’s game night. We are playing Architects of the West Kingdom. It is really complicated. So many pieces. So many interactions. It’s not really obvious what a winning strategy is when you’re a noob. They say supposedly a 90 minute game. We are on minute 150 and we are about 2/3 to the end.
