Different contexts, same repressive principles.
Whether it’s the waters of the Mediterranean or cities in the #US, the machinery of exclusion is the same. We often hear mainstream European voices criticize the horrors of #ICE, but they conveniently forget that a mirror image exists in our own backyard: #Frontex.
Neither force is out there "protecting" us; they are enforcing a global ideology of racial control.
We need to resist the violent, racist, and colonial oppression being practiced by these border forces every single day.

We zien beelden uit de Verenigde Staten van kinderen die worden gearresteerd en als lokaas worden gebruikt en van staatsburgers die op klaarlichte dag worden doodgeschoten door ICE-agenten.
Ver-van-ons-bed-show? Nee!
Ook bij ons in Europa druist het rechtse beleid met betrekking tot vluchtelingen/migranten keihard in tegen het Internationaal Verdrag van de Rechten van de Mens en leven deze mensen te vaak in erbarmelijke omstandigheden. Ze worden aan hun lot over gelaten op zee en teruggestuurd naar onveilige gebieden. Dit moet stoppen!
Geen mens is illegaal! Niet in Europa, niet in de Verenigde Staten, nergens ter wereld! Iedereen heeft recht op een menswaardig bestaan!

Ik raad iedereen aan die denkt dat wat er in de VS gebeurd niet hier in de EU gebeurd, dit stuk goed te lezen. Ja #ICE is een hele foute club, maar #Frontex en consorten net zo goed. Dus kijk niet de andere kant op als EU-fan, maar laat je horen! Goed om over ICE te praten, maar praat net zo vaak over Frontex!
