Cyberattacks are hitting Poland’s energy and industrial sectors — critical systems are becoming frontline targets. OT resilience is now a matter of national security. ⚡🏭 #EnergySecurity #IndustrialResilience
🔌 As Europe works to strengthen #energysecurity on its path to #climateneutrality, #electrifying industrial process heat is a clear opportunity to cut both #emissions and fossil fuel import dependence.
⚡️ With new support schemes being developed – including under the forthcoming Industrial Decarbonisation Bank – an important question persists: how does the carbon intensity of today’s power mix shape the real world impact of #electrification? 1/x

Russia has played down US President Donald Trump’s claim that India agreed to stop buying Russian oil, stressing that New Delhi has always sourced crude from multiple countries. Moscow-backed energy experts also say fully replacing Russian oil with US supplies would be costly and impractical. https://english.mathrubhumi.com/news/india/india-free-to-buy-oil-from-any-supplier-russia-plays-down-trumps-posttrade-deal-claim-d6zxnjan?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=mastodon #IndiaRussia #OilTrade #EnergySecurity #GlobalEnergy #Geopolitics

The EU will seek to cut US energy reliance after Trump’s Greenland threats.
The European Union will step up efforts to diversify away from American liquefied natural gas following US President Trump’s threats to take control of Greenland, European Commissioner for Energy Dan Jørgensen said Wednesday.
The bloc’s energy chief said the threats were a “wake-up call” to find new sources of gas.

Weaning off of natural gas is important for Europe's #EnergySecurity but it's difficult. Its main applications are space heating, process heating & power plant fuel and competition for it is tight during winter. Wind turbines generate more during winter than in other seasons, thus displacing more power from gas-fired generators. For space heating, heat pumps, geothermal heating or even combined are alternatives. Adopting these technologies can help #Europe reduce gas without going cold and dark.

Ten countries have agreed on 100 GW of offshore wind in the North Sea. This is a positive step for fossil-free power and European energy security. But scale matters: such volumes require massive grid expansion (offshore hubs, HVDC links), firm balancing power (hydro, nuclear, gas with CCS), and long-duration storage. Wind adds energy — systems deliver reliability.

Sweden plans to build four new nuclear reactors over the next 20 years, with a total capacity of around 5,000 MW.
Once fully operational, this would cover roughly 25–30% of Sweden’s current electricity demand. A major addition of stable, fossil-free power.
It strengthens Sweden as an industrial nation, supports large-scale electrification, and contributes to the climate transition in Sweden, Europe, and beyond.
