I think if more folx had at least some level of involvement in the process of legislation, we would be better off for it. Legislation does not need to be performed solely by politicians.

Well, as has become the expected hallmark of this administration, #DHS is directing #FEMA diaster recovery workers to immediately seize operations until further notice to 'conserve resources' due to the 'congressional Democrat shutdown'. That statement alone could be construed as in violation of the Hatch Act.

The real crappy part is that FEMA is funded by the Disaster Relief Fund, which is separate from the ongoing funding issue. This had monies added into it last year by Congress and according to monthly reports should have been able to support disaster operations until September of 2026.

More lies from this administration, more pain on state and local governments and taxpayers trying to recover from the hundreds of disasters that have occurred over the last decade or so. Recovery takes a really long time, decades even, and these delays cost taxpayers more time and money in the long run. Consider calling your reps to let them know what DHS is doing under the guise of 'national security'. This is making America poorer and disproportionately affects rural underserved communities.
