Functions are the workhorses of your code. With TypeScript, they don’t just “work”—they work safely, clearly, and scalably.

In Chapter 3 of Strictly Typed, I cover:
âś… Typing functions the right way
âś… Managing optional + default parameters
âś… Handling overloads with confidence
âś… Using generics for reusable, elegant code

🏄 Vibe coding has gone from a developer’s instinctive freestyle to a full-blown movement, and AI tools are the fuel.

Language models now sit at the center of this creative flow, suggesting, completing, and even pushing us toward bolder coding choices.

In this article, we explore the companies and tools that are making vibe coding not just possible, but powerful.

Once you start describing your data with precision in TypeScript, it’s hard to go back. Interfaces and type aliases are the backbone of clear, maintainable, bug-resistant code.

In Chapter 2 of Strictly Typed, we learn:
âś… Interfaces vs. type aliases
âś… How structural typing gives TypeScript its flexibility
âś… Why type compatibility is critical in everyday development

Developers have always coded on instinct: jumping in, trying something bold, and seeing where it goes.
Now, AI tools are right there with us, suggesting snippets, tweaks, and experiments in real time.

It’s not just human freestyle anymore—it’s a duet.

In this article, we explore how AI is changing the way we “vibe code” and why that’s reshaping the dev workflow.

Stressing about stress before there is even stress to be stressed about lately and it’s really stressing me out. Need to take some time for reflection and drinking. #devslife #ServiceNow

Had a realization today that just because you teach someone to do something doesn’t mean they will do it. More than likely they will explain they don’t know how to do it without you and then you end up having to do it. #devslife #sndev

Seeing these ads like “Build your startup”.

And thinking… hey, you are not building a startup?! You want to build a product, an MVP more precisely. Right? You actually want to solve a problem. Not chase money and investment. That is what you want to do. That is the real goal. The startup and money is just a sideeffect of this undertaking. This is the way. Now go build a product to make the world a better place! And aim to grow full bootstrapped! #startup #devslife #devstories

So apparently I need to not bring up bugs when I notice them because that gets a ticket put on me when it’s an entirely different team that did the work that created the bug. Noted: will leave everything broken and have someone else report it so I don’t have to add more to my work load. #devslife #ServiceNow

Is it Friday yet? Like seriously how is my brain so fried and it’s only Wednesday. I should be much more alert and sane mid week than I am right now. Bouncing code around multiple environments and multiple releases is causing severe anxiety and memory issues of what is fixed where and how and what scripts are updated for what versioning. I need a database just to keep track of all the changes. #devslife #ServiceNow

Definitely a Monday. Multiple calls, clarify tickets, meet with Vendor over tickets. Compare code, merge code, testing, don’t feel like I did much of anything productive today but overall every step taken today will make things better overall. #devslife

One major area that I despise when having an issue with out of the box functionality in SN. When there is an issue in our instance and not in a PDI the ownership seems to fall to us, which I understand. However, when a plugin release is supposed to fix something and it doesn’t, vendor support should be able to do a comparison of the OOB code to see where the issue is. I shouldn’t have to setup a personal instance to debug their code myself. #ServiceNow #devslife

Completed the UI Builder fundamentals and honestly surprised at the functionality built into it and how simplistic it is to navigate and utilize. I already see areas where it will definitely get tricky and create issues. Overall I’m impressed and can’t wait to play around more with it and see what I can make out of it. #ServiceNow #devslife

Starting to dabble with C# and hoping to get the basics down and go into .Net fully and learn that aspect of things. Get some experience working with it so I don’t fall victim to being strictly a JS dev and not have anything else skill wise. #devslife #devjourney

- What did we tell you?
- To not build "state machines by hand"...
- And what did you do?
- I build a state machine by hand ...
- And what is the outcome?
- Pain and frustration in trying to hunt down hard to debug edge cases...
- So what do you do next time?
- If it's really really small can I ...
- No! No! Nooooo!

Honestly never want to do portal development again with ServiceNow unless it’s from scratch completely custom. Working with existing vendor provided code is a nightmare. When it works, it’s great obvi.. but when it doesn’t work how it should, holy lord it’s a pain getting a fix. Even trying to do a custom workaround becomes a hassle due to how everything is structured. #devslife #servicenow #portaldev

Super productive retrospective meeting today. First one since our R1 that was actually full of feedback. Everyone from top down realized we have been trying to break the sound barrier with releases and now we need to slow it down and get back standards and make things sustainable again. Set the tone with some new joining members to the team and take our time. #devslife #agile

Going to be doing a collab project with a friend soon to get my regular developer chops back up to par as I have been secluded in ServiceNow land for too long without doing things outside of it. Really think my brain needs something different and more modern to keep things fresh. #devslife #developer #javascript

chatgpt promot: rewrite ganstas paradise but about going through a programming sprint

Answer:

As | churn through the lines of my code tonight,

Itake a look at my screen and realize there's so much left to write,

“Cause I've been coding and debugging for so long,

Even my coffee feels that my sleep’s gone.

In the world of the sprint, we're in such a haste,

Can't take a break, no time to waste.

Too many bugs, we can't debug,

With all the issues, feel like we're stuck.

Chorus:

Been spending most our lives

Living in this programmer’s paradise.

'We code, then review and revise,

Living in this programmer’s paradise.

Living in this programmer’s paradise.

We sacrifice, pay the price,

Living in this programmer’s paradise.
