The next round of my chemotherapy pills (Lenalidomide) have arrived. I have to be alert and watch for the delivery because the pills have to be signed for. Usually they are delivered by a small FedEx vehicle, not the big boxy one. But today the guy was driving an SUV, maybe his own personal vehicle. To make conversation I said, "You fooled me. I was watching for a FedEx truck." He said, "Yeah it got smashed up."

Yes, that would be much appreciated. I need an astounding amount of paper towels to reduce infection risk from a variety of possible household tasks/sources.

The largest bale of a well-known name brand towel (that truly *does* work best for anything I've needed them for compared to others I've tried) currently costs over $30, up from around $20 at the beginning of the pandemic.

One day I'm hauling one home and am shocked at how easy it suddenly is to carry. As I still had a couple of bales (I try to buy now only when on 'sale' 🙄), it was dead easy to read that the "same" large bale was now fully 8 metres^2 less content than the prior packages, all with the same claims re how many roll equivalents on the package.

Unsurprised and unimpressed. 😡

Morgen gaat mijn behandeling eindelijk beginnen. Een "mooie cocktail" van Oxaliplatine, folinezuur, 5-Fluorouracil en Irinotecan die in totaal 3 dagen nodig heeft om in mijn lijf te lopen.

In de ochtend aankoppelen, woensdag einde van de middag afkoppelen. Als alles goed gaat mag ik dit 8 keer doen…

Ik ga voor een goed resultaat, waardoor mijn lijf nog een tijd mee kan!

In rust vier ik met Brechtje deze avond en wat er komen gaat <3

Here we are, approaching Christmas 2025. Extra Christmas number 1 for me! The last few years have been pretty crap, as you know, but as we depart 2025 and hurtle headlong towards 2026 via the medium of overeating I'm pleased to say that I'm feeling better.

Yeah, I'm so great at remembering anniversaries that I even forgot the anniversary of my cancer diagnosis.

I blame.... chemo brain! 😂

Yeah, it was on Nov 17th 2020 that they performed the brain biopsy that diagnosed me with a PCNS lymphoma. The next day, the oncologist they had assigned to me gave me the news. I gave my assent to treatment, and they immediately rolled me from neurology to oncology because I was *this* close to being dead.

We started chemo. After two rounds of it, I entered remission, but I had to go through all 8 rounds of it (or 9 rounds depending on how you count), and later I had a stem cell transplant.

Five years after this ordeal, I'm still alive. 🥳
