I'm excited to share that our latest paper on designing ecosystems for space has just been published! 🚀 ✨

The paper introduces a biochemical model of an ecosystem that generates all food and oxygen for astronauts by efficiently utilizing their waste. This closed-loop system draws inspiration from the MELiSSA concept of ESA and ensures that astronauts are no longer reliant on Earth for resupplies.
