I really do not want to buy books from amazon.
But bookshop.org does not have the author I want, and it is way to expensive to get from the author's own website, as the books would be delivered from US, costing more in shipping than in products.

Sent an abuse report (including logs) to AWS about a machine on one of their IP addresses smashing my web server with requests to download various potential backup filenames. Five days later they have verified that the IP address is in fact one of theirs, and that they

"reached out to our customer to determine the nature and cause of this activity or content in your report"

Actually I am pretty pissed off as a consumer about this because I bought a scribe instead of a Remarkable because it was cheaper AND I COULD COPY MY PDFs AND PAPERS EASILY.

Thanks to @jenni talking about the latest from the Kindle verse, warning us of further digital lockdowns from Amazon on our devices, I spent the morning downloading all my purchased books from Amazon and jailbreaking the old Paperwhite following the instructions from https://kindlemodding.org

Using WinterBreak, disabling updates, installing KUAL & MRPI, and generally being a patient script kiddy with the knowledge I could brick my device, I now have a completely independent ereader.

Now, how do I get my old books on there? 🤔😏
