Had an amazing experience with #Aira this morning. I had been sent an inaccessible document last week. I’ve been putting off trying to fill it in because I was dreading trying to fill it in. I made an attempt to fill it in myself to no avail. It was a Word doc on my Mac full of tables, tick boxes, and lists. After wrestling with it for half an hour, I tried ChatGPT to fill it in. It filled in half the document and lied about filling in the rest. So I tried Google Gemini. It was no good. It wouldn’t fill it into the Word doc at all. So I wasn’t sure what to do. Then I thought of Aira. I have only started using it in the last month, so it doesn’t come to mind instinctively. I remembered that you could attach files, and so that’s what I did. Within less than five minutes, the agent had filled in the form and emailed it back to me. I am so impressed by the service they provided me. I think I would have been struggling with that form for the rest of the day if not tomorrow as well without the help I received today.

In August 2025, the #ArtificialIntelligence and the Rights of #Autistic People (#AIRA) project presented a workshop at the #Autscape conference, discussing advocacy topics with the audience of autistic people from the UK and other countries. This video shows some highlights from the workshop presentation by Willow Holloway and from a discussion on designing practical learning assignments, as well as comments from workshop participants.
AIRA is a three-year project (2023-2026) by the European Council of Autistic People (#EUCAP), funded by the European AI & Society Fund. Autscape is a founding member organisation of EUCAP.
Just took the annual #Aira satisfaction survey. I gave them mid-level satisfaction ratings, and gave scathing comments about how they do not offer equal opportunity access offers to Canada as well as the US for stores such as Walmart and Starbucks. Walmart is Walmart is Walmart. Regardless of what country it's in. Same thing goes for Starbucks. I also gave them scathing remarks about how not all agents are trained in orientation. It should be mandatory that every agent should be required to complete orientation training. And how frustrating it is to have an agent when I do need orientation not be trained so, and have to be placed back in the queue. I wonder if I win one of their free gift cards, if they will make it useable in Canada? I guess we'll see. I gave them an average of five out of 10 in satisfaction.
