The watersheds most affected by declining snow water were the Okanagan in B.C., the Assiniboine-Red River basin in Manitoba and the Saskatchewan River basin. The declines could also reduce flows in the Fraser River and the St. Lawrence River, which millions rely on for water and hydropower.

Canada may finally be at the point where a reminder must be issued to political parties that they and its members are not above the law.

UCP President Rob Smith apparently laid out plans to convert the UCP to a separatist party. While open discourse is certainly a factor to a healthy and functioning democracy, I think the UCP will become a test case for Canada in terms of whether a political party may be compromised.

This is a guy who wants to own a huge chunk of land in northwestern Alberta for a massive data centre factory that would most likely be used by big US tech companies and run on massive amounts of methane gas, consume a lot of water, and emit harmful pollutants into the surrounding air and environment.
