#Xcode26

I've used platforms such as this to find and follow people that I thought to be the best in their craft (programming), that cared about their implementation and are very intentional in their work. I guess I somewhat aspired to be them in my work.

It's mind boggling to me, to what conclusions some of them came this week, comparing LLM-written code to compiler generated bytecode. Just in a single week, standards lowered, complete resignation.

Never meet your hero's I guess.

The Claude terminal command here is on a project basis. You might want to move it to be global. You can do so in .claude.json

Is anyone else having Xcode 26.3 agent issues? I keep getting: MCP client for `xcode` failed to start: MCP startup failed: handshaking with MCP server failed: connection closed: initialize response. I can't get it to work with Claud or Codex.

“Make it so!” works. Should I try “Energize” next?

Are there any details on how the new Xcode 26.3 uses Agents/Claude.md files, agents, skills, or referencing documents outside of Xcode?

A surprisingly ambitious feature for a mid-cycle Xcode update.

I'd love to see Apple further decouple feature updates from their usual yearly cycle when possible.

For AI workflows, in particular, a major feature release once a year is just way too slow.

Decided to give Xcode’s ChatGPT integration another chance, since I had 2 bad experiences initially.

Gave it pretty clear instructions on how to fix a bug in a function. It did great! But… IT ALSO DELETED EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE FILE!!! 💩 💩 💩 💩

I’m seeing a ton of CPU usage in the Xcode 26.1 RC simulator. A "ReportCrash" process shows is in activity monitor, and I see a “MercuryPosterExtension" constantly crashing via the Console app (maybe that's the name of the wallpaper app?).

Anyone else having problems?
