So I would like to try something new. While there is not a lot of Lashunta or Castrovel art out there, there is a lot of artwork that is inspirations, and perhaps even foundational, to their development. Not only does thisinclude all the cover art drawn over the years for the words of Edgar Rice Burroughs - who wrote both the Carson of Venus works and also the character La of Opar within the Tarzan Saga on which much of Castrovel is inspired. Therefore, all f the pulp art illustration and cover art done over the decades falls within inspiration. Also, since ERB wrote buch of this work in the 1930's, by extension, I would argue that both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements had influence into the look and feel on which his worlds are based. So let me start with something simple. Maybe we will make this a weekly thing.

It's easy to talk about an arboreal environment where people find it easier to live up in the giant megadendra trees than on the ground. Yet it's another thing to imagine the challenges of living out in such an environment, especially out in the jungle, away from the cities.
Imagine Tarzan being the norm for travel. Ninja Warrior and Parcour being everyday skills just to get by... It starts feeling like the apes and the Sealnea (Vanaras) might have a significant advantage.

Over the last few days, I've got myself much invested in worldbuilding. The result is now a “map of the north” with striking landmarks, large castles, and their associated noble houses. Dinosaurs have also found a place in this cold region. I look forward to your feedback or questions :)

Brudo Cadamar is a disabled athlete competing at the 27th Imperium Martial Games. A swimmer and a mountain chariot driver, Cadamar was on-track to continue his family legacy as a Games-bound weightlifter. A climbing accident put Brudo in a chair, but did nothing to dampen his competitive spirit. A devout cleric of Ka, goddess of strength and competition, Cadamar's putting Team Oyster Islands on his back in search of Games gold.
Castrovel Weekend Inspiration, Part ~Zhoa~

~Zhiquael Nauzhe Moqevae~ - Zhiquael, Thrall of the Moqeva - is a work of Shamyudi (erotic literature) written by Theiahe of Nivaea in the 23rd Millennium. However, its subject is so morally inflammatory that it has been banned in many lashunta cities. It continues to survive underground in places like Nivaea and Qabarat, where dilettantes appreciate its noncomformist shock value.
It tells of Zhiquael, the sister of Tess, who is captured as part of a moqeva raid and brought to Hoshiasa, and then is traded further southward to Yaethitha, where she becomes thrall to a powerful snakefolk lady and made part of her harem. She becomes the moqeva lady's lover and rises to a position of authority within the estate. She also bears a clutch of eggs sired by one of the male haremmates, which hatch into half-lashunta moqeva children. She chooses to stay with her ladylove's household and children, but assists other lashunta thralls rebelling against the moqeva, and who found Cursed Ylisaeua. Afterward, her subterfuge is discovered. Yet she willingly goes to her execution after her ladylove begs forgiveness and promises to keep her children safe.
Scholars categorically judge the work as fantastical. However, Theiahe the author insisted it was inspired by a memory discovered within a soul-tree while visiting the ruined site of ancient Yaethitha. The story has engendered speculation that a lashunta slave-class might have existed under the moqeva's alien rule, and thus could explain the mystery of Cursed Ylisaeua. It has also led to wilder speculation of a secret remnant of half-moqeva survivors who can pass as lashunta. No scholarship takes this seriously, although inquisitors have been known to take an interest in anyone found with the book.

Moqeva - the ancient ophidian empire makes up the lashunta's oldest legends and still haunts their nightmares. Storytellers still regale audiences with the legend of Tess the First Queen, and how the serpentfolk once hunted the Children of the Milktrees for food and sport.
Yet what if the truth was more complex? What if the moqeva took lashunta as thralls, forming a servant underclass for their empire? Could this explain such historical mysteries as Ylisaeua. Was this a society founded by revolting lashunta slaves, even after they had been corrupted?

Some of them would. Others not so much.
Alistair has slept in far worse places than a tent. That would be no problem for him. Also, he enjoys the outdoors. Fenella would say “f*ck that” right off the bat. Hati and Sam would probably enjoy it as well. Hati is down to try anything. She’s spontaneous that way. Caden, however, is the one I’m not so sure about. I’m leaning towards no. He would probably hate it and miss his flat (and art business).
