Had a great time helping out at the A League of Their Own https://aleagueoftheirownchallenge.com/ #CrossFit competition at Mission CrossFit SA yesterday. This is the 13th time they've done it. I've probably been helping out for close to the last 10 and it is always a hell of a lot of fun. Really upbeat crowd and really well-run
Three mile ruck with 60 lbs
Nice day. Caught up with my brother on the phone the whole time so that makes the miles even easier
Not sure if any #SanAntonio folks follow me, but my gym has an all-women #CrossFit competition tomorrow called A League of Their Own
https://aleagueoftheirownchallenge.com/
$12 to come watch and cheer. This is always one hell of an event. I'll be there carrying stuff around and mopping down equipment
Shoulder press, accessory work, and core work
Knocking a bit of rust off after a couple of meh weeks
Four mile ruck with 60 lbs and some lifting buddies. Then off to #CrossFit
The theme for this week's programming seems to be "don't touch the barbells because we have the gym cleaned up for the competition this weekend"
Last two weeks have been shaky because of laziness and a bunch of travel. Back on the board today with some squats and accessory/core work. Took it easy on the squats because my hamstrings were getting tweaky
Packing for my trip...
Have had a bit of a lazy week, but on the board today with some shoulder press, accessory and core work
Knocked out a three mile ruck with 60 lbs on this fine Sunday afternoon
Tweaked my shoulder Tuesday when I ... closed my office door. So I skipped my presses today and did some shoulder rehab work instead. Tacked on a three mile run for the love of the game with a 9:32 pace. Happy with that
Think the shoulder is fine, but figured skipping a day was better than risking aggravating something. Need to get a more comprehensive mobility practice in place
Getting old is awesome
Early morning four-and-change ruck with 60 lbs and some lifting buddies
My friend Misty came out of rucking retirement this morning. For a while she was the strongest human female whose number I had in my phone. Then she got all boy-crazy and got remarried and she doesn't lift like she used to. Also we both got old 😀
Was great to see her and catch up
Tuesday!
Squats!
Found an escaped dog on my walk today and got him returned to his owner. Got my good deed in for the day! That's two (dogs) in the last week
Bench press and accessory work on this fine Monday
Pulled the rower down, threw in some new batteries, and knocked out a 5k row
First time using it since before my shoulder surgery a year ago and boy I felt it. Want to start mixing in some rows alongside my runs and rucks
Friday deadlifts!
Solid first week of the year
Hope everyone is headed toward a restorative weekend
Shoulder press, accessory work, and core work
Started alternating sets between chin-ups and pull-ups during my accessory work. Think I like that better than pull-ups only
Three mile ruck with 60 lbs and a couple of lifting buddies
I've noticed that my #Whoop has screwed up the distances on two of my runs and one of my rucks this year (a 60% screw-up rate across those workout types) Has anyone else noticed this? I'm wondering if they pushed an update because these are routes I've traveled a bunch in the past. I'm wondering if I need to wait until the 3 2 1 countdown finishes before I lock my phone and start moving. Could be worse, but still ... 🤬
My walking buddy couldn't make it today, so I threw a three mile run on the stack
