Maria-Theresien-Straße in Innsbruck • Via Romea #22 •
@1MEMO 20260205
February 4, 2006, walking the Via Tirolensis in the Maria-Theresien-Straße in Innsbruck Old Town (Altstadt), Tyrol, Austria, part of two ancient pilgrimage routes.
Both the Camino de Santiago and the Via Romea Germanica follow this route in Innsbruck.
In the middle the statue of Mary (Annasäule).
In the last (second) scene - viewing the other way around - on the right the green copper roof of the medieval Town Tower (Stadtturm) where this East Tyrol route of the Jakobsweg ('Jakobsweg Osttirol') merges with the main (east to west) route in Austria : the 'Jakobsweg Tirol' running here on the right bank of the Inn River.
Next (left) to this tower , the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl) and - but not visible here - the Innsbruck Cathedral, the Cathedral of St. James (St. Jakob Dom) , also part of this ancient Christian pilgrimage route, the Way of St. James.
