Well, we know what this administration and their supporters think of people from "shithole 3rd world countries" anyway. To them, these kids' lives are expendable.

"The World Health Organization on Friday released a formal statement blasting a US-funded vaccine trial as 'unethical,' because it would withhold an established, safe, and potentially lifesaving vaccine against hepatitis B from some newborns in Guinea-Bissau, Africa."

@tess_machling even people who did catch it are unlikely to have life-long immunity.
Anyone who isn't confident they've had an MMR booster in the last 10-15yrs should ask their GP if they can book one

Or pay if you're able.
Now is the time. However old, whether you have kids or not. Do it!

@statsguy not just if you have kids!
Get a booster if you're not sure if/when you had an MMR. Everyone.
Especially over-50s but anyone at all. Request a blood test for antibody titres if they won't just book you in for a vaccine straight away.

Getting a top-up of protection is always a good idea, especially now. #vaccinesWork

"The measles outbreak in South Carolina reached 876 cases on Feb. 3, 2026. That number surpasses the 2025 outbreak in Texas and hits the unfortunate milestone of being the largest outbreak in the U.S. since 2000, when the disease was declared eliminated here."

“the research “shows it is very highly unlikely that COVID-19 vaccines have any meaningful negative effect on fertility or childbirth rates,”

“Researchers were able to analyze medicals records of nearly 60,000 women ages 18 to 45 in one Swedish county because the country’s national health system keeps detailed records of births, deaths, vaccinations, and other key data.”

Measles cases are rising in South Carolina — but medical professionals say the MMR vaccine is available right now and remains the strongest protection. Protect yourself, and help protect the people around you who can’t be vaccinated.

South Carolina medical professionals say the measles vaccine is available right now— and they want the community to use it.

Health leaders say vaccine hesitancy is still a major issue — and they’re working to understand why some people remain unvaccinated as cases keep rising.

“The vaccine is available right now and I recommend that as many people that can get the vaccine that are, have no proof of immunity, should get the vaccine.”

– Pharmacist Prital Mehta at Prime Family Pharmacy in Rock Hill

The South Carolina Department of Public Health recommends that children receive their first and second doses between ages 1 and 17, while adults should be vaccinated based on their age, needs, and profession. Doctors typically advise giving the first dose at 12–15 months, followed by a second dose at 4–6 years old.

Getting vaccinated helps protect people who can’t get vaccinated.

Some individuals can’t safely receive the MMR vaccine, including pregnant people and/or immunocompromised people. That’s why doctors emphasize community immunization: when more people are protected, it reduces spread and helps shield vulnerable people from being exposed.

Public health officials say vaccination is the best tool to prevent the outbreak from spreading further.

#Measles cases and #deaths are unnecessary. They can be prevented by #vaccination. If everyone, who can, becomes vaccinated, this will establish herd immunity that will also protect those with immune conditions, who cannot protect themselves. #vaccines #vaccine #VaccinesSaveLives #VaccinesWork

Let's talk about #polio! The virus can invade our nervous system and cause paralysis in just hours. Remember: 1 in 200 cases leads to irreversible paralysis (usually in the legs). However, thanks to vaccines polio can be prevented! #VaccinesWork Stay informed and protect yourself and loved ones!
