Apparently Thursday (!) was #trickortreating in the town in which I live. It seems like a bunch of towns/suburbs in #Ohio have decided to follow a rule that doesn't allow #Halloween to occur on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday.

Friday and Saturday are reserved for football and therefore Halloween must be moved. Sunday, being the Lord's day, can't have Halloween either.

Because of this #stupidity, my wife and I were out when little kids came to our door last night.

Fuck the #Midwest.

This morning I started wondering about something from #JohnCarpenter's #Halloween.

I know later in the franchise the mask of #MichaelMyers attained a mythic status, but in the first film, it's just something he grabbed from a hardware store, along with the tools used to rip out the tombstone.

Then in the sequel, an innocent man is mistaken for Michael Myers and KILLED because he went #trickortreating in the same mask.

The mask was a relatively common item, so who was it supposed to be?

Trick or treating done right-- the only thing they're missing are the coconuts.

This was in the small town of Crystal Lake, Illinois (USA).

Between and a bit behind them is a children's wagon, holding the chest which contained the Sacred Scriptures of the Book of Armaments (read in the film by Brother Maynard, which described how to use the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch).

135 trick-or-treaters, second highest total ever here. The best ever was on a perfect day, which this wasn't, although it wasn't bad. Interesting to see an old childhood tradition make a big comeback in this family-based neighborhood, especially since we're not in one the prime foot-traffic locations. #trickortreat #trickortreating
