@stman personally I do like #TransparentElectronics as they do make it easy to detect #tampering with the hardware.
- That being said aside from some "#LimitedEdition" devices and "#TradeShow Samples" that are explicitly stickered "NOT FOR SALE" there's way less #TransparentPlastic cases these days than ca. #Y2K when it was trendy.
Which is a shame because even if one doesn't need to build #Laptops and stuff for paranoid #US #Prison|s' inmates, there's no valid reason to not offer products like that to the general public:
- Espechally since one can use #plastics that ain't "food-grade"-certifyable anymore and even if one wants crystal-clear plastics there are sheets and resins for that. Not to mention one could still matt-sand/acid-etch the surface for a satinized finish.
Also lets be honest: #TransparentTech just looks awesome!
