Not finding any official news or media reporting on this yet, but there is a new 11 GB update for The Crew 2 seemingly enabling it to be played offline.

We saw an article talking about Ubisoft promising to add offline support for The Crew 2 so that when they kill it, you can still play.

Have they done that yet?

Because I really want more open world driving games, but avoided buying either Crew because I just /knew/ they were gonna pull what they did with The Crew 1.

If 2 has offline support, it might be worth buying even though they'll shut down the online eventually.

I thought I posted this in September, but apparently not:

I bought #TheCrew2 when it was $1. I bought it solely because #Ubisoft promised an offline mode that would allow me to continue to play after server support ended. I was ready to buy it when they deleted the first game from everyone's libraries, and decided that I wasn't going to take the risk on the franchise if that was how they would treat their customers.

Your move, Ubi. I trust you $1. Follow through or I will be upset.

To jest tak nieśmiesznie głupie, że aż zatacza pełne koło i znowu chce mi się śmiać.

Kupiłem The Crew 2 na XSX. Ot, Ubindalo promkę, że gra na dowolnej platformie jest za $1, pomyślałem, że co mi tam, będę miał w co grać, żeby moi chłopcy oglądali.

Pobrałem grę i przy próbie włączenia wyrzuciło mnie do ekranu głównego konsoli po przeskoczeniu wszystkich wstępnych, tak charakterystycznych dla Ubisoftu loadingów, łączenia z serwerami, usługami, i w ogóle. Spróbowałem więc drugi raz. Coś musiało zaskoczyć, bo zamiast New Game było Continue. Mimo tego po kliknięciu znowu to samo. Mieli pół minuty i znowu dashboard. Po piątej próbie się poddałem.

Z ciekawości wpisałem w wyszukiwarkę, skąd ten problem. Według wpisów z różnych forum czy Reddita błąd występuje od dawna. Pomaga... Odłączenie konta Ubisoft od innych usług i/lub kont. Ale tylko czasami.

Takiego cyrku, jak gram od prawie 30 lat, nigdy jeszcze nie widziałem!
