Don't think this Tandy 1500HD is coming back... at least not with the original hardware.
Bought this cheap knowing it had spent time underwater, with the intention of gutting the housing and sticking modern hardware inside. I always try to restore vintage stuff first, but I'm pretty sure this one is beyond saving. I'm a sucker for this form factor though, so I want to do something neat with it.
Hoping to salvage the keyboard, but I'm not sure if it works or how it communicates. Might be possible to buy/build some sort of converter to interface with USB (I am open to any suggestions there) but I'll probably just find a comparably-sized USB keyboard and shoehorn it inside the original housing.
Easy mode would be to stick a Pi, battery, and some bulkhead connectors in the case. Buuuut, I'm also realizing the shell for the LCD is a hair thicker than a Lenovo Legion Go. What if I gutted one of those, stuck it in the LCD shell? Hmm...

Trying an enhanced version of NETCAT on my CoCo 2.
This for the Fujinet, the utility is available on the CoCo TNFS server and was at my last check the original stock 32x16 text screen - this one provides 41x24 and it is pretty snappy. New one will find its way to the server soon.

Day 3 I think it's just about final. Learned a lot and found a ton of issues with my tracker, namely that the global volume was completely crushing the 4 bits of attenuation on the chip so I was getting no dynamic at all.

After decades I finally ported my floppy disks into the SDC for the Zebra Systems "Color Graphics Designer Plus", the CoCo's 'Print Shop'. Program is disk use heavy as it swaps in and out the different overlays needed to support its nifty GUI... works better all loaded on the SDC pak instead of the real floppy disks. Happy camper here 🤗
