Really happy with my cable management on the living room setup. Everyone always shares their “find a cable” desk photos. But entertainment center cable management is hard mode.

Feel free to share your ideas for this and help me improve if there’s room for it.

Image descriptions contain more details.

An image of my tv stand. It’s old and made of glass, but works fine. Yes, the HomePods would do better on wood. That’s a future project.

This setup is a 65-inch Sony OLED (circa 2022 I believe).

Two HomePods connected as the sound system through an Apple TV 4K that is mounted in the rear of the TV.

Nintendo Switch and PS5 are hooked in through a Hue Play for syncing lights. A light strip and two light bars on the stand sync.

The PS5 and Apple TV both have direct Ethernet to the main Linksys router.

All power connections run to a large power strip housed in an open top container in the bottom shelf. Keeps cats out and cables cleaned up off the floor.

All cables besides the Ethernet and power strip power are held within the stand, so the stand can slide without getting hung up on cables. The rear of the tv.

It’s difficult to photograph as it’s dark. But all cables route through the built in cableways. I’ve wrapped the cable bundle in a simple black wrap thing that keeps things tidy. Again, a good cat deterrent from chewing.

The three cables in the floor (one is technically floating in space and nailed to the wall to keep the curtain closed) are the two Ethernet and one power strip cables.

No cables or structures jut out from the back. This is the view behind the second shelf. The PSVR 2 sits in a stand. Controllers charge via magnetic USB-C dongles and the headset cable is coiled on top.

All cables route to the cable divider. Cables from above are from the Nintendo Switch and HomePods.A rear view of the container on the bottom shelf. This might look messy, but it’s carefully laid out so every cable reaches an outlet. Many only just reach, but it works. All cables are off the floor.

The 4TB HDD is connected to the PS5. It hosts PS4 games.

Setting up new 4K UHD TV system — smart TV, soundbar, Blu-ray — for my girlfriend.

We can't get our teeth & claws into the MBAs, programmers, & remote control designers who spiral this experience into a soul-sucking maelstrom of pointlessly fractal complexity, forced "choices," gaslighting "convenience," rentier robbery, surveillance corporatism, & demonic malignity.

So we may just have to strangle EACH OTHER with braided ultra high speed HDMI 2.1 cables.
