TIL that while Magus is pronounced MAY-gus, its plural, Magi, is pronounced MAY-jeye, never MAY-guy.

At least according to the dictionary.

It sorta makes sense if you consider Magi to be the plural of Mage, since both have the j sound, but that makes no sense, because you'd only think to use the i plural for a us word — though even then that’s not as common a pattern as people think it is, in English.

(Prompted by #StarBorg #TTRPG use of Magi instead of Jedi.)

Star Borg is my favorite MÖRK Borg spinoff. There’s also Dukk Borg (Duck Tales) and Smörk Borg (Smurfs) and others.

The MÖRK Borg universe has been replaced with one of scoundrels and idealists fighting a sadistic autocratic empire. The rules are simple, the flavor is space opera. With JP Coovert’s art it’s almost an anti-MÖRK Borg.

While it's unlikely that anything will be able to dislodge the WEG D6 Star Wars RPG in my heart, Star Borg is a solid, rules-light OSR/NSR rule set that can easily be used to play in that setting. Plus, it's $6 to get if you sign up for the creator's Patreon.
