L'ultima puntata dell'ultima stagione che chiude definitivamente #StarTrek #Discovery non è mi ha appassionato troppo perché scritta malino, ma devo dire che un po' di dispiacere e nostalgia me l'ha lasciata

Questo perché la protagonista #SonequaMartinGreen ha avuto un progressione come attrice a dir poco prodigiosa nell'arco delle stagioni, e poi perché semplicemente l'astronave e la tecnologia di questa serie (il famoso #sporedrive) era IMHO la più stimolante mai vista 💫

Encountered some #fungi during our walk at #Kirroughtree yesterday, and explained to our 7yo about the #mycorrhizal network. Looking for a textbook on the subject, I came across the name Paul Stamets, which, having watched #startrekdiscovery, struck me as just too much of a coincidence. Seems the contemporary expert influenced the whole #sporedrive plotline, and the Lt Cmdr was named after him in tribute! Hence the #MerlinSheldrake book I saw in #wigtown today referencing both!

Another concept I really love is the #SporeDrive. People forget that the #USSDiscovery was always an experimental ship, running a science experiment that was never meant to come to fruition. And honestly watching #Stamets #Tilly and #Burnham debate the workings of the device gave me serious #Geordi and #Data vibes. This is mad science and that is what #StarTrek writers have always done best.
