'Outright #fascist': #Dem forces #ICE director to admit his agents are like #Nazis
Rep. #DanGoldman (D-NY) forced #ToddLyons, the acting director of U.S. #ImmigrationACustomsEnforcement, to admit that his agency uses the same tactics as #NaziGermany and the #SovietUnion.
#Salyut4, the #SovietUnion's third operational #SpaceStation, was visited by the #Soyuz17 mission; its two cosmonauts set a new endurance record with their 29-day mission. They were the first of two crews to occupy the station, and returned to Earth on #ThisDayInHistory in 1975.
For much of my life the Olympic teams from the Soviet Union, and frequently the eastern block nations, were seen as individuals competing for a bad country. Now I get to see it from the other side: athletes from my country, the USA, competing as representatives of a country doing reprehensible things.
It's sad for athletes who have worked hard for years and years to have all their hard work colored by this.
