‘I'm livin' livin' livin' life with all its ups and downs
I'm givin' givin' givin' love and smiling at the frowns
You're in trouble when you find it's hard for you to smile
A simple song might make it better for a little while

Let me hear you say
Yaa, ya-ya, ya ya’

"Everyday People" is a 1968 song composed by #SlyStone and first recorded by his band, #SlyAndTheFamilyStone. It was the first single by the band to go to number one on the Soul singles chart and the U.S. #BillboardHot100 chart. It held that position on the Hot 100 for four weeks, from February 9 to March 8, 1969, and is remembered as one of the most popular songs of the 1960s. Billboard ranked it as the No. 5 song of 1969.

Sly Stewart -- who would soon become famous as -- pictured with singer Bobby Freeman, and Tom Donahue and Bob Mitchell, who were both DJs at KYA San Francisco and owners of Autumn Records. From the October 31, 1964 issue of Music Business magazine.

Black and white photo scanned from a magazine, showing (from left to right) a young African American male musician in sunglasses singing and playing a guitar; a second young African American male looking at the camera, smiling and possibly singing along; and two middle-age white males with wide-open mouths, perhaps laughing or singing.
