#Slaine

"Der Gralskrieg" ist kein zweiter "Gehörnter Gott", "Hexenkönigin" oder "Narrenprinz". Dafür fehlt ihm die emotionale Wucht und Tiefe, ist aber ein sehr gutes Abenteuer des Keltenkriegers. Das Ende von "Das Geheimnis des Grals" setzt dann einen vorläufigen, perfekten Schlusspunkt für Slaines und Niamhs Geschichte.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but they might be Famhaireans! Ten hand sculpted Celtic marsh giants emerge from the mist. Andrew Macdonald's latest via Ketil Trout Miniatures on Kickstarter. Ends December 5th. l.d20.ninja/9pv47epw #oldhammer #miniatures #slaine #deamhan #swamp #fantasy #whfb

A group of intricately detailed miniatures inspired by Celtic mythology is displayed in front of a rustic, weathered structure covered in moss and foliage. The miniatures, depicting various fantastical creatures, include a central figure holding a banner, flanked by others wielding weapons and adorned with unique features like tusks and intricate patterns. The scene is set amidst a misty, ethereal atmosphere, enhancing the mystical theme of the Famhairean campaign.

(been using search engine while listening to unconnected programmes on the radio)

"Rmoahal"

just did a quick duck search for "Rmoahal" as used in Slaine in 2000AD as the name of a blue-black dark-skinned "Atlantean" race - search on Google used to bring up character images and the Wikipedia article for "Slaine" hardly mentions them

the Rmoahal's are mentioned in search as "a root race" for Atlanteans (in "Theosophy" (root ideology of Eugenicists and Aryanism)) and also as a name for Homo Egaster originating in "Rhodesia"

one of the results is a Blogspot-Blogger of a story which appears to use retro-anachronistic thinking of white dominance - "But even the most pampered Rmoahal house-slave wears the collar, the sign that they are property, permitted to eat no more than the leavings of their ..."

in Slaine, the Rmoahal's were a technological advanced and warrior race reduced to a few survivors after destruction of Atantis by the forces of "the Cythrons" (the "Many Angled Ones", a version of the Elder Gods) whose symbol is a triskele similar to the swastika

recent genetic research has agreed with older determinations that the original modern settlers (within the last 10,000 years) of "Briton" (England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland) were brown-skinned people with blue and green eyes

extra:
the Formorians are presented as "fish-like" Sea Devils in Slaine - in history the "sea devils" are believed to have been "African" traders seeking Tin - "The Phoenicians were also well-known for their sailing skills, and are said to have traveled to the British Isles, which they called the "Tin Islands"."

Skoro już wróciłem, to czas nadgonić nieco cykl z historią sztuki w komiksie (tym bardziej że folder z przygotowanymi na przyszłość materiałami pęcznieje).

Dziś mam dla Was kolejny materiał z polecanki. Za zwrócenie mi na niego uwagi dziękuję Michałowi Kondrackiemu.

U góry: John Everett Millais, "Ofelia" ("Ophelia"), 1851-1852.

Na dole: "Slaine: Dragontamer Part 1", "2000 AD", nr 2212, 2020, scen. Pat Mills, mal. Leonardo Manco.

P.S. Kilka dni temu do przedsprzedaży trafiło polskie wydanie tego komiksu – "Slaine: Pogromca smoków" od Studio Lain.
