Meh, not copper windings but CCA - copper clad aluminium.

Because copper is getting very expensive (everyone wants more electric motors, transformers, cables, etc.), CCA is getting increasingly common.

Aluminium wire with a thin outer layer of copper, fixing most of the issues with plain aluminium wiring because physics (skin effect). Also lighter and vastly cheaper.

But terrible for copper scrap treasure hunters 😆
