Heute zeigen wir in unserer Reihe Blogkino die Fortsetzung der Zatōichi Serie mit dem sechsten Film der Reihe: Zatoichi and the Chest of Gold. "In den 1840er Jahren reist Ichi, ein blinder Masseur und schneller Schwertkämpfer, in das Dorf Itakura, um am Grab von Kichizo, einem Mann, den er vor zwei Jahren getötet hat, seine Ehrerbietung zu erweisen. Die Dörfer in der Umgebung haben nach mehreren Jahren der Hungersnot Mühe, die 1.000 Ryo an Steuern aufzubringen, die sie schulden. Das Geld wird auf dem Weg zum Gouverneur gestohlen. Ichi wird ebenso beschuldigt wie Boss Chuji, ein Samurai, den Ichi respektiert. Ichi macht sich auf die Suche nach dem Geld, um seinen eigenen Namen und den von Chuji reinzuwaschen. Auf seinem Weg muss er sich Kichizos Schwester, einigen Mitgliedern von Chujis Bande, einem korrupten Gouverneur und dessen Handlangern stellen. Die Loyalitäten verschieben sich, doch Ichis moralischer Kompass bleibt unverändert."
