Only a few of the bigger stones remain visible on this patch of shingly beach recolonised by saltmarsh after planting Sea Club Rush (Bolboschoenus maritimus) to help saltmarsh restoration. It's great to revisit previously planted sites and see the successful habitat restoration work done by Green Shores.

Some large river worn stones poking out of mud and green vegetation. In the right top corner there is a stand of sea club rush with brown leaves that have died back for winter.

@ml This is the Green Shores project mastodon page, we work on saltmarsh restoration in Scotland, we are testing methods on our sites to improve transplant success. We are bulking up the donor plants, to reduce harvesting on the healthy donor saltmarsh.
It's an amazing habitat.
We're mainly funded by NatureScot through the #NatureRestorationFund and based at St Andrews University.
