I realise that since they started getting connectivity they became risky devices to have in the home, but the design of the iRobot Roomba for repairability is fantastic. I just swapped out some sensors on my 650 (released 2012) with nothing but a screwdriver and a spudger.

What did I learn? Reassemble meticulously. Any sudden needle jamming warrants an investigation into what happened. Electronic sewing machines can be repaired at home, especially if spare parts were made available. #RightToRepair

These bills would be a disaster for the maker community and everything that has allowed it to vibrantly develop. Many 3D printers and their associated revolution in empowering people to make and repair things come from open source and open hardware projects which would presumably be outlawed, as would #Prusa3D products. This has echos of the Clipper Chip and other similar attempts.

So my 35-year-old snow thrower ran great after fixing the driveshaft sheer pin and rebuilding the carburetor. I got this latest 5-8 inches of snow cleaned up, buuuttt...I ran out of gas and had to finish the last quarter of my sidewalks and driveway by hand shoveling. A couple of years ago I had to make a new driveshaft for it and I've had to make new skids as well. Parts are hard to come by and if I can find them people want way too much money for them.

My daily driver for nearly 10 years, this MacBook Pro from 2015 has a swollen battery.
This repair was much easier. Only four components to remove before getting to the battery, which went straight to the hazardous waste drop-off.
Again, thanks to @iFixit for parts and an excellent guide. Who knows, maybe I’ll get another ten years out of it.
